Why We Built This Site
Access to warrant information in Michigan is decent on paper and frustrating in practice. The difficulty is not secrecy, it is routing. A warrant does not sit in one file. The court that signs it owns the charge and the bond, while the sheriff's warrants unit is the office that serves it and can say whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant from a missed appearance usually stays with the district court that set the case. Support warrants belong to the Family Division instead.
Michigan adds one more wrinkle. There is no public statewide warrant search. The Law Enforcement Information Network connects agencies, and access is restricted to law enforcement and statutorily authorized offices. A person who checks one portal, sees nothing, and stops searching can walk away with a false sense of security. We collected the offices, the online systems, the warrant-number conventions, and the request procedures for Oakland County into one reference so a reader can begin at the correct counter.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We are not connected to any Michigan court, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, or any state agency. The limits are real:
- We cannot run a warrant check or confirm whether an order exists for anyone
- We cannot recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot post bond or take payment toward a warrant
- We cannot schedule a surrender, an appearance, or a walk-in
- We cannot give legal advice or apply a warrant to a specific case
- We cannot promise that a phone number, fee, or office hour listed here is current today
Only the court that issued an order or the sheriff's warrants unit that holds it can confirm whether a warrant exists or has been recalled. We can point you to that office, and the office provides the answer.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes that third-party companies operate. Those companies set their own prices and run their own services. If one of those tools leads to a paid signup, we may receive a referral fee, which helps keep this reference free to use. We do not control the pricing or the results, and a partner tool is not an official warrant check.
