This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, clear or recall one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice. For any of those, contact the issuing court or the sheriff's warrants unit directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Here is where the questions we see most often belong in Oakland County:
- Whether a warrant exists: call the district court named on the ticket, the ticket, or the court notice, and ask the criminal or traffic division to confirm the status and the bond
- A bench warrant from a missed date: contact the court that set the case, because it signed the warrant and controls the recall
- Clearing or recalling an order: talk to a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court about a voluntary appearance, a bond, or a motion to recall
- An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the issuing court sets the charge and the bond, and the sheriff's warrants unit serves the order
- A child-support warrant: call the Friend of the Court warrant line at 248-858-0479, staffed 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays
- A court case record: the district court clerk for a district case, or the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds for Circuit Court legal records
For a sheriff-held record, the county counter is the OCSO Records Unit at 1201 N. Telegraph Road, on the east side of the Main Jail in Pontiac, MI 48341. The number is 248-858-5011 and the email is ocsorecords@oakgov.com. Hours run 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and the office asks visitors to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing.
Circuit Court legal records belong to the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds at 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Building 12E, Pontiac, MI 48341, 248-858-0581, and questions about the Sixth Judicial Circuit go to Department 404 at the same address, 248-858-0344. District court questions go instead to the division named on the paperwork, such as the 46th in Southfield, the 47th in Farmington Hills, the 50th in Pontiac, or the 52nd divisions that serve Novi, Rochester Hills, and Troy.
Have the case or ticket number, the court name, your date of birth, and the date on the notice in front of you before you call. Write down who you spoke with and what you were told, and ask for a receipt and the updated warrant status after any payment.
